  1. We have been working with the engineers on the Boat Ramp Project. The spring weather will have the greatest effect on how quickly anything gets done. The snow melt helps, but not if we get too much rain. The trees have to be out by April first by ODNR ‘s rules due a bat that nests in river trees in the spring. The street department (Bob Shepherd) will be removing about 100 feet of heavy brush along the river to complete the river path walk. The initial path will just be an oval along the river, the elevated road between the two former lagoons and back to the ramp where there will be parking.
  2. At our Council meeting on Monday:
  • We will need to vote on the Southside Park Playground equipment – $28,689. Nothing has been done there for fifty years. We were fortunate to find this company and their sale. These sets originally added up to $42,000 so it’s a good savings. We have set aside $10,000 each of the last three years to get to be able to buy something nice for this end of town.
  • Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. had the low bid for the boat ramp and has been approved for its construction by Quicksall engineering. We will need to vote on the approval of their bid of $85,230.
  • We have John Resh to rehire for the Pool/Park Manager. John did a nice job for us last year and we are happy he wants to come back. We will put an ad out for and assistant and lifeguards.

Thank you!

Pat Cadle, Mayor
