The Simonds Water tower came down today, October 7th, 2020.    It will be cut up and hauled away.  This is a great step in cleaning up the old site.  

On October 9th, the Simonds Power Building came down at about 5:30pm.  The company doing the removal of the asbestos and performing the demolition is Wargo Enterprises out of Akron, New York (about 5 hours from here.  They are a big company which you can see by the equipment they brought with them. They were low bidder for Phase 1 of the project.  Phase 2 will be bidding out starting tomorrow for two weeks.  Low bidder will remove the rest of the asbestos and all of the buildings except for  the administration building and the building next to it.  If everything works out right, it should be done by 2021.
