Deputy Chief Bruce Lowery
Bruce Lowery, a native of New Philadelphia, was hired by Newcomerstown Village Council on March 12, 2025. Bruce graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1987. Bruce worked at Tuscarawas. County Sheriff’s office, and also served as the Assistant Police Chief of Port Washington. At the
sheriff’s office Bruce started in corrections; then went to the road, transports, Patrol Sergeant, and was a member of the S.W.A.T. Team. In his spare time, he enjoys bicycling and is also an OHSAA official for both football and track. He loves football and has been a participant for ten years. Bruce retired in August 2023 from the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Department after a 25-year career. He joined us after talking with Chief Kennedy. His first and foremost goal as Deputy Chief is to make the Newcomerstown Police Department a place that officers want to come to and stay at.
