We are a full time department that serves a community of 4,000 residents in the Village of Newcomerstown, Ohio. We are located in the southwestern part of Tuscarawas County, along the borderline of Guernsey and Coshocton Counties.
The officers of Newcomerstown Police Department are committed to providing professional and compassionate services to our community through dedication and teamwork.
We will enforce the law in a fair and equitable manner, taking into consideration not only the letter of the law, but also the spirit of the law.

Like the U.S. Army's, are summarized by the acronym: "LDRSHIP" which signifies our role as leaders and role models in the community, particularly in difficult times. Our mission and core value statements are based on examples from other law enforcement and military services, but most importantly, were developed with the input of members of the Newcomerstown Police Department.
